Instructions Menz 5 Minute Hair Color

DIRECTIONS: It’s best to use Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor on clients with short to medium length hair. If the hair is long, the ends may become dark with subsequent applications.

  1. Select a Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor – Select a color at the same level or lighter than the client’s natural level. Determine if the client desires the gray to be blended or if natural coverage of the gray is desired.
  2. Mixing – Mix Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor with equal parts of Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor Activator in either a bowl or in a bottle (1:1 mixing ratio.) If a thicker consistency is desired, add 1/8 to 1/4 oz of Scruples Color Whip® Haircolor Thickener.
  3. Application – Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor mixture may be applied to either damp, towel dried hair for a more blended result, or dry hair for natural coverage of gray.
- Virgin Application – Apply the color mixture from scalp to ends, and process the Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor for 5 - 10 minutes according to the coverage of gray desired.
- Retouch Application – Apply color mixture to new growth. If ends need refreshing, distribute the color mixture through the length and process during the last 1 - 3 minutes of the processing cycle

 NOTE: A quick and thorough application is essential as the haircolor molecule develops rapidly.

 

  1. Processing – Process 5 minutes for a blending of the gray, or 10 minutes for natural coverage of the gray. Menz® is a progressive color; the longer it processes, the darker the resulting color. The color must process a minimum of 5 minutes to fully develop the haircolor molecule. Do not process longer than 10 minutes.

  1. Removal – When processing is complete, rinse the color from the hair thoroughly. Shampoo with Menz® thickening shampoo or renewal® color retention shampoo, then rinse. Apply Menz® 1 Minute Stabilizer to soothe the scalp, improve color retention, and condition. Work through hair for 1 minute and rinse. Condition hair with Menz® hair & scalp serum or renewal® color retention conditioner. Remove any color stains from the skin with Scruples Color Away® Haircolor Stain Remover.

 

BEARD AND MUSTACHE DIRECTIONS:

  1. Select a Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor – Select a color at the same level or lighter than the client’s natural level. For best results use the same color selected for the hair.
  2. Mixing – Mix Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor with equal parts of Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor Activator in either a bowl or in a bottle (1:1 mixing ratio.) • For ease of application – Add 1/8 to 1/4 oz of Scruples Color Whip® Haircolor Thickener to the mixture for easier application to coarse hair.
  3. Application – Apply a generous amount of Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor mixture to beard or mustache for natural gray coverage.
  4. Processing – Process the Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor for 5 - 10 minutes. Menz® is a progressive color; the longer it processes, the darker the resulting color.
  5. Removal – When processing is complete, wipe the color from the beard or mustache thoroughly with a damp towel. Shampoo with Menz® thickening shampoo or renewal® color retention shampoo, then remove the lather with a damp towel. Repeat this step, if needed, until all color has been removed. Apply Menz® 1 Minute Stabilizer to soothe the skin, improve color retention, and condition. Work through facial hair for 1 minute and rinse. Remove any color stains from the skin with Scruples Color Away® Haircolor Stain Remover.

0 CLEAR BASE Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor 0 Clear Base is the haircolor base without pigment. When 0 Clear Base is added to a Menz® formula or Gray Enhancer Shade, the color will become more tranparent, allowing for increased blending of gray.

 NOTE: Increase the Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor Activator accordingly so the mixture always contains equal parts of haircolor and activator (1:1 mixing ratio).

GRAY ENHANCER SHADES:

The Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor Gray Enhancer Shades, Charcoal 6BBV and Silver 9BVV, provide striking gray tones in the hair. They are designed to enhance the client’s natural charcoal and silver tones. The Gray Enhancers can be used alone on the hair containing up to 50% gray. If the client’s hair is over 50% gray, the enhancer formulas need to be adjusted with the Menz® 5 Minute Neutral Series to provide natural results. (See Gray Enhancer Formulation Chart Below).

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Determine the client’s natural hair color level – Using the Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor swatch book, determine if the client is either under or over 50% gray.
  2. Select – Either the Menz® Charcoal or Silver Gray Enhancer formula. If the hair is over 50% gray, be sure to include 1/4 oz of a Neutral Series. (See Gray Enhancer Formulation Chart above).
  3. Mixing – Mix Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor with equal parts of Menz® Activator in a bowl or bottle (1:1 mixing ratio).
  4. Processing – Process the Menz® 5 Minute Haircolor for 5 - 10 minutes. Menz® is a progressive color; the longer it processes, the darker the resulting color. (Refer to Menz® Processing Guide).
